The Maryland Terrapins have announced that head coach Ralph Friedgen will return for the 2010 season.
Friedgen met with athletic director Deborah Yow the past two days to discuss a wide range of topics.
Yow was satisfied with Friedgen’s feelings on 2009 and the future of the program and decided he deserved another season.
The coach assured her that he would help boost season ticket sales and put a winning product back out on the field.
Friedgen made it clear at the end of the year that he wanted to come back, saying his team didn’t quit on him so why should he quit on them?

The Maryland Terrapins simply ran out of steam late in a 19-10 loss to the Boston College Eagles.
On senior day and with the stands half empty, the Terps were unable to end a really ugly season on a positive note.
The Terps used a combination of Jamarr Robinson and Chris Turner at quarterback, but the offense didn’t respond.
The Terps had a chance to win the game late but chose to go for the first down on fourth and inches deep inside their own territory.
Needless to say, with the way the season has gone, Robinson was stuffed and the Terps turned the ball over on downs.

The Maryland Terrapins overcame a sluggish start to gain an 80-68 road victory over the Indiana Hoosiers.
The game was part of the ACC/Big 10 Challenge and gave the conference their first win and one that was much needed.
Maryland played very sloppy in the first half and went into the locker room with just a two-point lead.
The second half was close until the final 10 minutes when Maryland started to pull away thanks to their execution of the flex offense.
Greivis Vasquez heated up in the second half and led the Terps with 23 points while Landon Milbourne added 19.
