No one is happier to see Greivis Vasquez returning to College Park for his senior season than Maryland Terrapins head coach Gary Williams.
Williams told Vasquez that he loves him, and the guard responded by affirming his love for his coach.
Vasquez makes the Terps a really good team in the eyes of Williams, who is very excited for the upcoming season.
ESPN has confirmed that Vasquez’ return could really help the Terps, ranking them as the No. 17 team for next year.

The Maryland Terps got some good news when guard Greivis Vasquez announced that he will return to school for his senior season.
The guard had declared for the NBA Draft but did not hire an agent so as to make sure that returning to school would remain an option.
It was rumored that scouts were impressed with Vasquez during draft workouts but felt that he would really benefit from an additional year at the collegiate level.
Head coach Gary Williams and Maryland fans have to be thrilled with the news that their star point guard will remain in College Park for one more year.

The Maryland Terrapins thought they had a good chance to land Will Barton in the class of 2010, but he and his brother have verbally committed to Memphis.
Barton’s brother isn’t much of a player, but Will is considered one of the top players in the 2010 class.
The announcement came as a surprise considering Memphis is being scrutinized over some admission issues.
Things could get ugly in Memphis, which could mean the Bartons back out of their verbal committment down the road.

It appears that the Maryland Terrapins may be closing in on top recruit Lance Stephenson, although nothing is ever certain when it comes to the guard.
Stephenson’s dad said his son narrowed his choices to Maryland and Arizona, but the latter has wrapped up its 2009 recruiting class.
That leaves Stephenson in a tough spot, as Maryland once again seems like the only team interested.
He has shown interest in Memphis and Florida, but I’m not sure the feeling is mutual. Memphis is a team to avoid now anyway with the recent allegations surrounding Derrick Rose and his SAT score.
