Terps still in Stephenson sweepstakes

The Maryland Terrapins apparently are still very much alive in the Lance Stephenson sweepstakes.

Stephenson’s father recently said that his son had narrowed his choices down to Maryland and Arizona.

Many thought the Terps were out of the running, and Stephenson’s father admitted as much a few weeks ago.

It seems that things have quickly change of late, possibly because Stephenson is having trouble finding programs with available scholarships or interested in taking a chance on him and his character issues.

He also said he really grew to like head coach Sidney Lowe.

Terps selected for NCAA lax tournament

Despite a rocky regular season, the Maryland Terrapins were selected as an at-large team for the NCAA lacrosse tournament.

The Terps will have their hands full in the first round, traveling to South Bend to take on undefeated Notre Dame.

Maryland could spring the upset if they play up to their potential, as it could be argued that the Irish haven’t really played anyone this year.

The Terps were expected to be a top 5 team this year, but they have rarely resembled such a team.

Terps grab top recruit Ross for ‘10

The Maryland Terrapins landed a big-time recruit for 2010 when guard Terrence Ross orally committed to the school.

Ross is just the latest player from Montrose Christian High School in Rockville to land with the Terps.

Current guards Greivis Vasquez and Adrian Bowie both played their high school basketball at Montrose.

Ross is considered the No. 31 player in the entire country for the 2010 class.

Head coach Stu Vetter said that he believes Ross could be a top 10 player by the time he finishes his senior year of high school.
